In 2009, the Oscar-winning actress was rumored as being unsupportive of Obama because of his apparent lack of interest for the issues outside of the United States. An close source to the actress told Fox News that Jolie's husband, Brad Pitt, had been much more supportive of the elected President. ""Angelina is waiting to see how he delivers on campaign promises and world affairs during his [first] term," the insider told Fox News.

When asked about her thoughts on the Republican presidential candidates who were considering cutting foreign aid altogether, Jolie, who also works as an Ambassador to the UN, said foreign aid is a bigger discussion that needs to be had.

"What is foreign aid, and if foreign aid is just cash and just dropping food aid but not addressing fair trade, and not addressing how to help people learn about their own laws and self-govern - and it's just constantly throwing a kind of, you know - it's the fish and not teaching somebody how to fish, right?" she told The Daily Caller.

Jolie believes that the U.S. needs to adjust the way it addresses foreign aid, saying that as things stands countries are n! ot able to get back on their feet in an independent way. "They deserve that, and so we have a lot more we need to be doing," she said.
