Hicks: Angelina Jolie had fling with Mick Jagger, says new book
A new book about Mick Jagger claims the Rolling Stones' singer had a fling with Angelina Jolie after she starred in the band's 1997 video for "Anybody See My Baby."
In "Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger," Christopher Anderson wrote that the then-22-year-old Jolie didn't want to do the video, but was talked into it by her mother, actress-producer Marcheline Bertrand. At the time, Jagger was with Jerry Hall and Jolie was married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller ("Trainspotting") and carrying on an affair with actor Timothy Hutton.
Wait, wait . So this guy is saying Angelina Jolie would carry on with a married man? C'mon ... .
"Marche loved Mick for Angie," said Bertrand's friend Lauren Taines. "She felt that he could teach her about fame and how to handle it." Bertrand died in 2007.
For Mick, a large part of Jolie's appeal was her wild streak. "She scares me a little," he said. "I like that."
So now we know how he's gotten along with Keith all these years.
After getting encouragement from Bertrand, Jagger allegedly wasted no time pursuing Jolie after the video was done. At first she refused to return his phone calls, but Jolie finally gave in to Jagger, with the dalliance lasting for two years (adding him to her man-harem, which supposedly also included Russell Crowe, Billy Bob Thornton and Nicolas Cage). In 1999, Jolie broke it off with Jagger.
It's a good thing those didn't mate. The
baby's lips wouldn't have fit through the hospital's front door.Contact Tony Hicks at thicks@bayareanewsgroup.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BayAreaNewsGroup.TonyHicks.
