Tom & Angelina Go Head-To-Head

Two of the world's biggest celebrities are set to face off at the box office as Warner Bros. has slotted Tom Cruise's All You Need Is Kill against Angelina Jolie's Maleficent on March 14, 2014.

Earlier this year, TheInsider.com spoke with Kill director Doug Liman about the futuristic action flick and the Mr. & Mrs. Smith helmer told me he's been finding inspiration in odd places. "The movies I've been watching for All You Need Is Kill are not the movies you'd think someone setting out to do a giant science fiction epic would watch," he said. "They're great, old movies."

The official plot description for Kill (read it here) makes the film sound like Groundhog Day set in a war between aliens and humans, with Tom Cruise's character subbing in for Bill Murray's wacked out weatherman.

Jolie's Maleficent needs no introduction as it has snagged countless headlines since the first image of Angelina Jolie as the wicked witch made its debut on August 22.
