When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their engagement back in April, the world waited with bated breath for what would be the pop culture wedding of the century. Since, the world has collectively exhaled the pair has yet to set a date, and both have gone on record saying they wouldn't do so until gay marriage was legalized across the U.S.
Flash-forward to Pitt's interview with Extra yesterday, and it seems like the couple's willing to budge on their "no marriage before marriage equality" ultimatum. While Pitt hasn't changed his opinion on gay marriage and says he's impressed with the "great strides" made in the last election, he and Angie don't know if they can continue to wait for gay marriage to go national after all. "I will admit, we have had some pressure from our kids [to get married] and didn't realize how much it means to them," Pitt said. But it's not just Maddox, Pax, Sahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne who see the special importance of marriage. "In getting engaged, we didn't realize how much it meant to ourselves," Pitt added. Still no date though: "I don't know what's going to happen in two weeks; I certainly don't know what the new year is going to bring." Is 2013 finally the year of the Brangelina wedding? After those comments, it appears more likely than ever.
