Angelina Jolie admits she does not talk to father Jon Voight about the past

In an interview with US TV network CBS, Jolie suggested that if they discuss the rows that were a part of her childhood, then their fragile relationship may fall apart again.

Jolie and her father became involved in one of Hollywood's most famous family feuds in showbusiness since 2001, when Voight told Access Hollywood that his daughter had "serious mental problems" and pleaded with her to seek help.

Jolie responded with a public statement saying she did not think it was "healthy" for her to be around her father.

Relations had already become strained after Jolie learned Voight had had an affair behind her mother's back.

Last year, the pair were photographed together for the first time in several years, suggesting they have healed their long rift. It is thought Jolie's husband Brad Pitt was behind the reconciliation.
