Angelina Jolie sued by journalist weeks ahead of Bosnia film release

James Braddock, who was born Josip Kneevi, is seeking an emergency injunction to prevent In the Land of Blood and Honey from reaching theatres.

In a complaint filed in an Illinois court, Mr Braddock argues that when Miss Jolie wrote the script she took the story of two young lovers caught on opposing sides during the Bosnian civil war from his 2007 book The Soul Shattering.

He claims that in late 2007 he visited Bosnia to promote humanitarian causes and while there was approached by Miss Jolie's executive producer, Edin Sarkic, who said that he had read the book and was eager to discuss it.
