The In the Land of Blood and Honey director struck an out-of-character and over-the-top pose while modeling her custom Atelier Versace gown at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. "I wanted to be comfortable and I feel sexy in black velvet," Jolie told Us Weekly on the red carpet.

Jolie completed her look with Neil Lane jewelry, Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe heels and a Jaime Mascaro clutch. Her partner, Brad Pitt, 48, wore a Tom Ford tuxedo.
