Angelina Jolie visiting Libya

The actress is on a non-stop role with her United Nations ambassador duties, but her current trip to Libya is purely personal.

CBS News reported the actress arrived in Libya Tuesday for a two-day visit to witness for herself the results of the political unrest that has enraged the nation for the past year.

"I have come to Libya for a variety of reasons, to see a country in transition at every level and to witness efforts to fully realize the promise of the Arab Spring," she said.

According to VH1, she also said she will "be meeting with officials from all sides but above all, listening to the local people in the street. I am here to express solidarity with them. It is the work of rebuilding and recovery that will determine Libyas future.

Jolie will reportedly also meet with representatives from Doctors Without Borders and local refugee aid groups to better assess the situation.

The Associated Press said this most certainly is not her first aid trip.

Over the past ten years as UNHCR's goodwill ambassador, the 36-year-old has visited several nations to learn more about their refugee statuses. She's also donated $5 million of her own money to the cause.
