Angelina Jolie: I save my bad for Brad
The actress also revealed she can still be bad ... but now she saves that side of her for partner Brad Pitt.
The Changeling star has previously admitted to a lesbian love affair and once passionately kissed her brother in public.
And her bizarre behaviour as a young actress even led to her father, Jon Voight, publicly stating that she needed help.
Speaking about her wild side, she told US show 60 Minutes: "I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young, so I am very lucky.
"There are other artists and people that didn't survive certain things. People can imagine that I did the most dangerous, and I did the worst... for many reasons, I shouldn't be here.
"Too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken too, too far."

Calmer couple ... Brad and Angelina
The 36-year-old, now mother to six children, has finally settled down but claims she still has a naughty side which she saves for partner Brad.
She said: "I'm still a bad girl. I still have that side of me, it's just in its place now. It belongs to Brad. Or our adventures."
Angelina has previously said that she had her first serious boyfriend at 14.
At 21, she wed Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller, walking down the aisle in black rubber trousers and a white T-shirt, on to which she had daubed the groom's name in her own blood.
They split a year later and, after a relationship with actress Jenny Shimizu, she wed Billy Bob Thornton in May 2000.
They split in March 2002 and, three years later, she met Brad on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith.
The interview was filmed in Budapest, where Angelina was making Land Of Milk And Honey, which she wrote and directed.
The 60 Minutes profile is due to air in the US on November 27.
