Angelina Jolie: I'm still a bad girl

Angelina Jolie says she is "very lucky" she survived "heavy, darker times," but adds that she is "still a bad girl."

The 36-year-old actress and sex symbol made her comments to CBS news program "60 Minutes," for a feature set to air on Sunday,! Novembe r 27, ahead of the December 23 release of her new war-themed movie "In the Land of Blood and Honey," which marks her directorial debut.

"I went through heavy darker times and I survived them," Jolie said, without elaborating. "I didn't die young. So I'm very lucky. There are other artists and people that didn't survive certain things."

"I think people can imagine that I did the most dangerous and I did the worst and ... for many reasons, I shouldn't be here," she added. "You just think those too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken, too, too far."

The actress has spoken about her past drug use - she was once addicted to heroin herself, her sexual preferences - she is attracted to both women and men - and about her past struggle with depression and cutting.

The actress details her fascination with knives on ABC news program "20/20" in 2003 and said that when she was in high school, she once had a sexual encounter that involved attacking her partner with a knife. She also revealed she thought she would become a funeral director one day.

Jolie is known for her mysterious, "bad girl" roles in movies such as "Gia," which saw her play a bisexual, heroin-addicted supermodel, "Salt," which saw her play a Russian spy and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," which starred Brad Pitt, who later became her life partner, as the love interest and arch-nemesis of her assassin character.

"I'm still a bad girl," she said on "60 Minutes." "I still have that side of me ... it's just in its place now. It belongs to Brad."

The two are parents to six children. Jolie adopted the oldest one, son Maddox, as a single parent in 2003. Jolie is also known for a slew of odd public acts. She kissed her brother passionately after winning an Oscar for ! her supp orting role as a sociopathic mental patient in the 1999 movie "Girl Interrupted."

When she was married to actor Billy Bob Thornton, she was photographed wearing a vial of what she said contained a drops of his blood. She told Entertainment Weekly in 2008 that she thought the gesture was "romantic."
