Angelina Jolie addresses the jokes over her leggy Oscar pose

Angelina Jolie has finally addressed the media frenzy over her leggy pose during the 84th Academy Awards, saying that she "didn't pay attention to it."

Jolie, dressed in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown with a slit, showed off her leg while posing on the red carpet before the ceremony (see photos). Her pose was mocked online by viewers and spurred one of them to create a Twitter account called Angie's Right Leg.

"I don't watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don't click on it. And the people I surround myself with don't really talk about that kind of stuff," Jolie told the Huffington Post.

"I heard something, but I didn't pay any attention," Jolie continued. "It's as simple as being a woman picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else."

When "Descendants" co-screenwriter Jim Rash appeared on the Oscar stage for his win for Best Adapted Screenplay, he took the opportunity to poke a little fun at Jolie's leg-baring pose she did while presenting the award.

The screenwriter, who is likely best known as an actor for his role as Dean Pelton on "Community," told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Paley Festival on March 3, "I enjoyed that she sort of chuckled when she did it. I thought she was owning it and rocking that look, as she should, and I thought it would be a fun way for me to own a proud moment."

Shortly after the Oscar ceremony on February 26, Rash said backstage at the Oscars that it was a "loving tribute" to the actress.
